Camino pilgrims usually stay one night in each Albergue being part of a many stage journey. We are happy for pilgrims to stay and additional night or two if they desire, however in keeping with Albergue tradition, pilgrims must vacate the Albergue by 8.30am (season dependent) and cannot return until opening time (around 3pm season dependent). This will go some way in bringing the journey experience of a Camino to the pilgrim. Unless there are ambulatory difficulties pilgrims should journey on foot. There are many possible day journeys from our Albergue. We provide advice for those not familiar with the area and have many suggestions for varying degrees of mobility. For those with walking difficulties we will assist with transport. Ideally this will make you independent of your automobile. One of the important lessons from the Camino is to learn to let go of what seems important (but isn’t necessarily so). On this Camino letting go of personal automobile dependence maybe the most important thing you take away with you. We are most conscious of assisting by helping with transport to decrease this dependence.
For those “pilgrims” who are prepared to walk onto Blackheath the second day there is an Albergue which operates on a permanent basis. We can supply details. |
